��i <br />Elk River � <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Chris Sumstad — Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />July 12, 2022 6.1h <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Installed 18 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br />• Installed a new three phase service and rerouted 300 feet of underground primary line <br />at the Cargill complex for the new feed mill they are building. <br />• The overhead rebuild is complete in front of the old Saxon building. We installed new <br />poles and strung new wire. This new line will be utilized to serve the two apartment <br />buildings under construction there. <br />• We continue working on the overhead rebuild along Viking Boulevard. The line had to <br />be constructed deeper in the right of way to allow new road construction, which is <br />scheduled to begin later this month. Crews will be transferring customers to the new <br />line and tearing down the old line soon. <br />• Finished the underground primary wire replacement along Kent Street and 1915t <br />Avenue, south of County Road 35. <br />• Started underground wire replacement along Lander Street between County Roads 32 <br />and 35. <br />• Converted a section of overhead line to underground along 185t" Avenue between <br />Waco and Troy Streets in Elk River. This included new primary and secondary wire as <br />well as new underground pad mounted transformers. <br />• Installed a new three phase temporary service at the United Healthcare data center. <br />This will provide power for construction needs during their addition project. <br />• Staff is planning and preparing for the move of inventory and equipment into the new <br />field services building. <br />• Reworked some underground primary line around the Nature's Edge Business Park in <br />preparation for future customers there. <br />• Changed out a transformer damaged by construction equipment in the Parrish <br />Meadows development in Otsego. <br />• Working on maintenance items (changing out rusty transformers, old switchgear, <br />repairing woodpecker holes, etc.) when we can. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />.; <br />
