<br />Meeting of the Elk River EDA Beautification Committee <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Monday, June 13, 2022 <br /> <br />Members Present: Ryan Hardin, Deb Hjermstad (via Zoom) <br /> <br />Staff Present: Brent O’Neil, Economic Development Director <br /> Joshua Mollan, Economic Development Intern <br /> <br />Due to lack of quorum, no official business occurred. Members and staff in attendance <br />discussed the following: <br /> <br /> Beautification Award <br />o Past marketing efforts and the possible reuse of the 2021 Beautification Committee <br />generated flyer. If used, it should be updated with the most recent winner. <br />o There is a potential to use issued building permits to seek out applicants. <br />o Committee member will look further into the eligibility of a potential award <br />nominee. <br /> Potential Beautification Award Policy amendments. <br />o Application submission formats <br /> Staff suggested the possible switch to online submissions only; the present <br />members agreed. <br />o Any changes will be conducted by staff and presented to the committee for feedback <br />and approval. <br /> Future of Beautification Committee <br />o Maintaining scop of committee: discussion should continue if the committee should <br />focus on other aspects of beautification outside of the Beautification Award, while <br />operating under the purpose of the EDA. <br /> Beautification Committee membership <br />o Staff requested committee feedback on the required representation of the Chamber <br />and Master Gardeners Club to being preferred. <br /> <br />Notes prepared by Joshua Mollan <br /> <br /> <br />
