Orono Park Peter Beck, Cit�r Attorne`T <br />Pickleball Court Response Reviewed by <br />Brandon Wisner, Pro�ect Mana er <br />Action Requested <br />Direct, by motion, the city administrator to enter into a settlement agreement on behalf of the CityT of Elk River, <br />Minnesota for a total not to exceed $17,404.80 with SRF Consulting GYoup, Inc. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The cityT engaged SRF Consulting Group Inc. to complete design work and oversee the construction of leisure <br />amenities at Orono Park. <br />Follo`ving the concrete and bituminous `vork on the pickleball courts, staff questioned the slope of the courts and <br />cited the specifications out]ined in the American Sports BuildeYs Association Pickleball Courts Construction and <br />Maintenance Manual, 2020 edition. Local pickleball playTers also voiced concern with the direction of the slope <br />which led to the Council consenting to additional funds to change the current grade of the courts to south to <br />north. <br />CityT and SRF staff have had multiple discussions regarding a resolution to the concerns. SRF has proposed a split <br />in the cost Cityr staff has concerns with elements of the project which mayr impact the final amount. <br />Staff is seeking direction YegaYding the completion of the pYoject. <br />Financial Impact <br />The Cityr Council pYeviously agYeed by unanimous consent to contribute $11,750.00 foY the expenses Yelated to the <br />grade change of the courts for a south to north orientation.
