Background/Discussion As part of the federal grant received for the construction of the Highway 10 trail, lighting was a component that was to be included along the full length. The lighting installed last year, with the MnDOT TH 10 reconstruction project, was confined to the limits of the MnDOT project which stopped on the east side to the Lake Orono Bridge. The remaining segment to finish the lighting system west of the bridge to Gary Street was intended to be done locally (and is part of our planned local cost share for the overall pro)ect). To complete this element, 13 additional trail lights are included in the attached quotation. The style and spacing of the lights is consistent with the existing lights on the east side of the bridge. Two quotes were obtained ranging from $92,377.06 to $103,878.50. Staff recommends acceptance of the low quote submitted by Design Electric Inc. in the amount of $92,377.06. Financial Impact The local cost share for the TH 10 Trail project as include in the CIP, was detailed to come from the Park Dedication fund. Mission/Policy/Goal Opportunity to live, work, and play.
