UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Chris Sumstad– Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />May 10, 2022 6.1h <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Installed 10 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br /> Joe Schmidt from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association was here for two training <br />topics inthe month of April. On April 5and 6 he covered preparations for OSHA <br />inspections. On April 27, 28, and 29heinstructed staff on CPR, First Aid, and AEDs. <br /> Joanne Ohrt started as the Inventory & Procurement Assistant on March 28. She has <br />been busy working with our Inventory & Procurement Foreperson during the month of <br />April, learning job duties. <br />Staff is in the planning and preparation stages to moveinventory, tools, and equipment <br />to the new field services building when it’s ready. <br />Phase 2 of the County Road35 rebuild is now complete. <br /> Line crews worked with the substation technician on replacing some jumpers at Waco <br />substation, Bank 1. This involved moving the load off and deenergizing the substation <br />transformer while repairs took place. <br />th <br /> Avenueto facilitate <br /> Line crews set two new poles and removed an existing one on 165 <br />th <br />the construction of the entrance to Natures Edge Business Park, also on 165 Avenue. <br /> On April 18 bore and line crews started rerouting and installing primary line at Cargill <br />Animal Nutrition. This will allow for the construction of their new lab. We will be back <br />again later this year and next spring to finish the wire placement once the lab is done. <br />Cargill is also planning to build a new feed mill this year which will involve rerouting <br />lines, placing new wire, and installing a new three phase service. <br /> Work has restarted on the Highway 169 Redefine project. We are currently working <br />th <br />near 5 Street moving infrastructure out of the way, and along Highways 10 and101 <br />rerouting underground feeder wire. <br /> A section of primary wire faulted along Dodge Avenue. This affected one transformer <br />feeding a multi-unit business building. It was in a looped system and back fed from <br />another direction. We will fault find soon and determine if it can be repaired. <br /> Staff wrapped up tree trimming for the season on April 15. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />135 <br />
