Given timing the of the situation,
on May 2, 2022, staff requested the City Council consider funding capital improvements and direct staff to
initiate improvements needed to house the Junior Team by combining two existing locker room areas.

At that meeting, Council directed staff to move forward with establishing the home venue for the junior
team at the FT Center but did not opt to move forward with improvements to the locker rooms at that
time. Council asked for more detailed plans and costing information to consider these improvements.

Additionally, the council indicated an interest in replenishing lost FT Center revenues with American
Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, then consider funding the locker room remodel with that funding. Staff
will compile a lost revenue report for the Council. Without the locker room improvements for 2022-23 the
Junior Team would need to be housed in existing locker room space.

Before you tonight, staff will walk through the basic financial components of the agreement being
developed with the team and the predicted impact on our facility.

Financial Impact
Daytime Practice Ice Revenue for 2022-23: $20,250
Game Ice Revenue for 2022-23: $13,320
Rental Revenue for 2022-23: $3,000
TOTAL DIRECT REVENUE, 2022-23: $36,570

Mission/Policy/Goal
Utilize the Facility as a regional event center by housing a Tier III Jr Hockey team.
