<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.11 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent April 18, 2022 Joe Libor, Deputy Fire Chief of Administration <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Fire Department Vehicle Purchase Mark Dickinson, Fire Chief & Director of Emergency <br />Management <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the purchase of two 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles for a total of $84,000 with further <br />authorization to set-up and equip the vehicles not to exceed a total cost of $102,268 for the purchase. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Fire Department will be replacing two command vehicles from 2011 and 2013 per the fleet replacement plan <br />and due to age and increased maintenance/reliability issues. The vehicles being purchased will be used for the duty <br />officer program and by the deputy fire chief of administration for daily duties and response to emergencies. <br /> <br />The total cost per vehicle is expected to be $51,134, with costs outlined below. <br /> 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe (State Contract): $42,000 <br /> Vehicle Outfitting (Lighting, Sirens, Labor): $7,000 <br /> Graphics and Lettering: $2,134 <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />A total of $100,000 was budgeted in the 2022 Equipment Replacement Fund and approved in the 2022 budget. <br />Additional costs for equipment will be covered by the current and 2023 fire department budget. <br /> <br />Mission/Policy/Goal <br />Ensures reliable and immediate response by fire command staff to emergencies ensuring exceptional service to the <br />community. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> N/A <br /> <br /> <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional <br /> <br />service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity. <br /> Updated: August 2020 <br />
