<br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION <br />HELD AT ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />NOVEMBER 5. 1987 <br /> <br />... Members <br /> <br />Present: Chairman Wilson. Commissioners; Kropuenske. Morton. Fuchs. <br />Barrett <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners; Temple. Kimball <br /> <br />Staff Present: Stephen Rohlf. Building and Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />Commissioner Barrett stepped down from the table at this time due to his <br />involvement in the matter. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Pu rsuan t <br />Planning <br /> <br />to due call and notice thereof. the meeting of the Elk River <br />Commission was called to order at 6:38 p.m. by Chairman Wilson. <br /> <br />2. Zone Change Request by Mr. Dirk Barrett/Public Hearing <br />Chairman Wilson explained that Mr. Barrett is proposing to zone change a <br />parcel from light industrial to agricultural. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson opened the public hearing at this time. There being no <br />one for or against the item. Chairman Wilson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission felt agricultural was a less intensive zone than <br />industrial. Further. they felt Mr. Barrett's property was more <br />agricultural in nature than industrial. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FUCHS MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL or THE <br />ZONE CHANGE REQUEST BY MR. & MRS. DIRK BARRETT FROM LIGHT INDUSTRIAL TO <br />AGRICULTURAL. COMMISSIONER MORTON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Stephen Rohlf. Building and Zoning Administrator. stated that the Planning <br />Commission should consider changing of the land use map. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission felt that: l.)since there was agriculturally <br />zoned property adjacent to the parcel in question shown on the land use <br />map as L-I (Light Industrial). and; 2.)the land use map will shortly be <br />updated. and; 3.)to change Mr. Barrett's parcel to agricultural on the <br />land use map would make it the only parcel in that area shown as <br />agricultural; the land use map should not be changed to reflect this zone <br />change. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FUCHS MOVED TO FOREGO THE CHANGING OF THE LAND USE MAP. <br />COMMISSIONER MORTON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Adjournment <br />There being no further business. COMMISSIONER FUCHS MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION. COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. <br /> <br />. ~Io .
