JANUARY 10. 1987 - 9:00 A.M. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Gunkel Councilmembers. Tralle. SChuldt. Dobel and <br />Holmgren. Planning Commiss~oners Temple. Kropuenske. Barrett. Kiwball. Fuchs. <br />Morton and Chairman W~lson <br /> <br />City Staff Present: Pat Klaers. City Administrator; and Steve Rohlt. <br />Building and Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />City Consultants Present: C~ty Attorney. Peter Beck; City Engineer. Terry <br />Maurer; and City Planners. Bob Wuornos and Zack Johnson <br /> <br />Peter Beck. City Attorney. gave a presentation on the City's Zoning Ordinance. <br />He explained the meaning of each aspect of the Zoning Ord~nance such as <br />cond~t~onal uses. variances. zone changes. etc.. possible counc~l action. <br />state laws in relation to city enforcement. and public hearing procedures <br />regarding each aspect of the Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Beck further explained <br />the Subdivision Ordinance. Mr. Beck also responded to questions asked by the <br />members present. <br /> <br />Mr. Zack Johnson and Mr. Bob Wuornos. City Planners. gave a presentation on <br />land use and growth in the City of Elk River. Mr. Johnson gave a slide <br />presentation on how the City has progressed regarding development. how <br />planning has helped structure development in specific locations and what the <br />City can expect in the future with the help of planning for growth. Mr. <br />Wuornos explained how they have worked with other Cities in the platting <br />process and explained how these procedures. if applied. would assist the City <br />of Elk River in the Platting Process. <br /> <br />Terry Maurer. City Engineer gave a brief presentation regarding his <br />involvement in platting projects and assessment projects. He further gave an <br />update on the 5 year capital improvement program. <br /> <br />A general question/answer discussion took place on the City platting and <br />development process.
