Request for Action To Item Number Mayor and City Council 7.2 Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by Public Hearings February 22, 2022 Zack Carlton, Planning Manager Item Description Reviewed by Conditional Use Permit: Amend Existing Chris Leeseberg, Senior Planner Agricultural Research CUP to Facilitate a New Reviewed by Feed Mill, PID 75-013-2100 Cal Portner, City Administrator Action Requested Approve, by motion, the Conditional Use Permit authorizing expansion/modification of the existing agricultural research facility by replacing the existing feed mill. Background/Discussion Case No. CU 22-03 - The property is zoned Agricultural Research (AR) where improvements and modifications to the approved agricultural research facility require a Conditional Use Permit (CUP). The request includes demolition of existing buildings and feed mill to make room for a new building to house the feed mill in the same area but will be shorter than the existing mill with a new height of 60 feet. The mill will support the research activities on-site, and none of the products produced will be sold off-site. Cargill will also need to receive approval of a building permit through the building department, to include all relevant inspections. At the January 25, 2022, Planning Commission public hearing, no one from the public spoke for or against the request. The Commission did not have any questions and unanimously recommended approval of the request.
