UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />February 8, 2022 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Delivered nine new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from eightwater services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmednegative for Coliform Bacteria <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 20 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR)to the Minnesota Pollution Control <br />Agency (MPCA) for the Water Treatment Plants. <br />Submitted DMRto the MPCAfor the Diesel Generation Plant. <br /> Terry Bovee has been selected as the consultant to help ERMU staff complete the <br />required amendment to our Well Head Protection Plan. <br /> During our routine annual inspections of the iron and manganese filter for well #9 the <br />water operators found that the filter media was low, indicating an issue with <br />backwashing. Filter media will need to be added to replenish what was lost. <br />The effluentvalvepositioning switchatwell #6 water treatment planthas failed and <br />needs to be replaced.
