UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Theresa Slominski –General Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />February 8, 2022 6.1a <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Our new Customer Service Manager, Sara Youngs, will start February 14. The new <br />Journey Lineworker, Alex Paschall will start February 28. With the promotion of Tony <br />Maurento replace Michelle Canterbury, we will be advertising fora Communications <br />Administrative Coordinator the weekend of February 4 and will post for two weeks. <br /> <br /> The Board of Directors of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) met on <br />January 25, 2022, at Chaska City Hall in Chaska, Minnesota and via videoconference. <br />Both Commissioner Mary Stewart and I were in attendance. A public summary of the <br />meeting follows: <br />o The Board reviewed the Agency’s financial and operating performance for <br />December 2021. <br />o The Board discussed COVID-19 and its effects on supply chains and labor <br />markets. <br />o Management reviewed 2021 performance. (Presentation attached.) <br />o The Board engaged in a long-term planning session on approaches for meeting <br />renewable goals. <br />o The Board discussed the status of the renewable projects the Agency is pursuing. <br />o There was an increase of 48 customers participating in MMPA’s residential Clean <br />Energy Choice program from November to December. Customer penetration of <br />the program for residential customers remains at 3.8%. <br /> <br /> I met with Greg Ridderbusch, CEO of Connexus Energy, for our quarterly visit. We <br />discussed a variety of topics. The meeting was productive and provides great value in <br />establishing a positive working relationship with Connexus Energy. <br /> <br /> We had our first 2022 session of Everyday Leadership with Kent Meyers on February 2. <br />This session’s topic was based on Pat Lencioni’s book The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team and <br />the five qualities needed for a team to succeed.
