The Commission recommended by a vote of
3-2 vote to waive this policy requirement.

Chair David Williams requested this be discussed since the public notice was recently published regarding the
request to name the softball field John Barth Fields. The policy was developed in 2012 by the Commission
through the “benchmarking of municipalities” best practices to establish a consistent approach for the naming of
parks and recreation areas.

Financial Impact
N/A

Attachments
 Parks and Facilities Naming Policy
 Naming Policy Parks Commission and City Council Minutes
