Approve or reject, by motion, CR 33 trail construction. <br />Background/Discussion <br />At the December 8 meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission discussed County Roads 33 and 44 trails. CR <br />44 was recommended using $250,000 in park dedication funds. CR 33 was again discussed at the January 12 <br />meeting with Mr. Dave Roedel, Deputy County Engineer in attendance to answer questions. After a lengthy <br />discussion and some debate, CR 33 was recommended by a 3-2 vote with the following conditions: <br />■ $300,000 coming from the Park Dedication Fund <br />Request the city amend the Franchise Fee <br />Renegotiate the cost share with the county <br />Three property owners attended the January meeting with one homeowner expressing a concern about the trail. <br />The Commissioners wanted to ensure residents are notified about CR 33. Letters were sent to 115 property <br />owners on CR 33, CR 13 and adjacent streets seeking public feedback either at the council meeting or by email. <br />Financial Impact <br />An updated estimate for the cost of CR 33 trail from Hwy 169 to Twin Lakes Road is $1.74 million.
