<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Economic Development Authority 7.4 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />General Business January 18, 2022 Brent O’Neil, Economic Development Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Together Elk River – 169 Redefine Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />This item is presented for discussion purposes. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The EDA has discussed taking proactive steps with possible impacts to businesses during the 169 Redefine project <br />and engaging the Together Elk River initiative to support mitigating efforts during the project. <br /> <br />There is an opportunity to utilize the Together Elk River committee, brand, and budget to bring positive impacts to <br />the community and businesses while the project is ongoing. With an approved budget of $10,000 in 2022 the EDA <br />could consider opportunities in which funding can be utilized in a Together Elk River campaign for 169 Redefine. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />The EDA has budgeted for $10,000 for Together Elk River activities in 2022. <br /> <br />Mission/Policy/Goal <br />Supporting businesses and capitalizing on opportunities throughout the 169 Redefine project was one of four <br />adopted goals in the EDA strategic plan. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional <br /> <br />service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity. <br /> Updated: August 2020 <br />
