<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Economic Development Authority 7.1 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />General Business January 18, 2022 Brent O’Neil, Economic Development Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Annual Election of Officers Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Appoint by motion, the election of EDA President, Vice President and Treasurer for 2022. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />EDA Bylaws identify five officer positions: president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and assistant <br />treasurer. The role and duties of the secretary and the assistant treasurer have been delegated in the <br />bylaws to the authority’s executive director. The position of president, vice president and treasurer are <br />elected annually. The bylaws state the following regarding each position: <br /> <br />President: Shall be selected from among the Commissioners, shall preside at all meetings of the <br />Commissioners, and shall have general charge of and control over the affairs of the Authority subject to <br />the approval of the Commissioners. <br /> <br />Vice President: Shall be selected from among the Commissioners, shall preside at all meetings in the <br />absence of the president and shall perform such duties as may be assigned to him by the Commissioners. <br /> <br />Treasurer: Shall be selected from among the Commissioners, shall receive and is responsible for <br />Authority money and for acts of the assistant treasurer. <br /> <br />The following officer positions in 2022 were as follows: <br />President – Dan Tveite <br />Vice President – Garrett Christianson <br />Treasurer – Jeff Hartwig <br />Secretary – Delegated to Executive Director <br />Assistant Treasurer – Delegated to Executive Director <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />N/A <br /> <br />Mission/Policy/Goal <br />Per the EDA Bylaws Elections of Officers will be confirmed at the EDA Annual Meeting. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> N/A <br /> <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional service, and community engagement <br />that encourages and inspires prosperity <br />
