Meeting of the Elk River Joint Finance Committee <br />Held at Elk River City Hall <br />Tuesday, January 26, 2021 <br />Members Present: Ryan Hardin, Charlie Blesener, Rhonda Magnussen, Dan Tveite, Chad <br />Vitzthum, Nate Ovall, Larry Toth, and Denny Chuba <br />Members Absent: None <br />Staff Present: Colleen Eddy, Economic Development Specialist and Zack Carlton, <br />Planning Manager <br />Others Present: Tim Dolan, Decklan Group <br />I . Call Meeting to Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River joint Finance <br />Committee was called to order by Dan Tveite at 7:30 a.m. <br />2. Consider Agenda <br />Motion by Toth and seconded by Vitzthum to approve the Joint Finance Committee <br />agenda. Motion carried 7-0. <br />3. Consent Agenda <br />Motion by Blesener and seconded by Vitzthum to approve the December 29, 2020 <br />Joint Finance Committee meeting minutes. Motion carried 7-0. <br />4.1 Resolution regarding the support of a JCF Application for Sportech, LLC. <br />Ms. Eddy presented the staff report. The committee discussed the letter of support and <br />asked Mr. Dolan several questions regarding the proposed Sportech expansion. There is <br />enough room on the current site to accommodate the proposed 91,000 sq. ft. expansion. <br />Sportech is proposing adding 53 new jobs in the first year. <br />Motion by Toth and seconded by Vitzthum to recommend to the EDA approval of <br />the Letter of Support the Job Creation Fund Grant for Sportech, LLC. Motion carried <br />7-0. <br />Mr. Dolan stated that Sportech LLC. was also submitting a Tax Abatement application. The <br />group will need to schedule a special meeting to discuss the application, once it is received. <br />
