GRRL patrons can register for cards online, or in -person at any branch.
This year, we promoted signup and renewal through posters, social media, and billboards throughout
our six -county service area.
Patron Services Policy Revisions
In July, the Great River Regional Library board approved the 2022 Budget without fines revenue. Since
then, staff has been developing policies to support this change. Major policy changes include removing
references to fines and late or processing fees, adding language to discontinue refunds and reinforce
that patron -purchased replacement copies will not be accepted in lieu of payment, and a general
simplification of language for better patron understanding. Policies from other libraries were consulted
for reference.
Staff is also working on communication strategies, and additional training, to help patrons understand
that library items do still need to be returned. Additionally, new ways to increase the number and type
of due -date reminders are being developed.
2021 Year -End Campaign
GRRL's Year -End Campaign is a fundraising effort to benefit the regional library system as a whole. This
is the library's biggest and most extensive fundraising effort for the year. This year's campaign will
highlight and announce the upcoming Fines Free change happening in January 2022. Donors are invited
to support the fines free effort by "paying it forward," if fines have not restricted them in the past from
using their local library.
\%GRgm MM "MorRARY
