Library Zones Report (Yearly walk through) <br />Elk River Public Library Board <br />The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity to City of Elk River for issues related to the Elk River Public Library Smunds, the physical building <br />and interior fixtures. The city is responsible far scheduling and coordinating all hark to be completed <br />Zone <br />Specifics - <br />Zone Issues/Progress <br />Zone 1 <br />i <br />Entrance; butterfly garden; windmill, prairie grass; rain garden <br />■ Parking lot rain garden has half of the <br />in parking lot, planter boxes for Junior Master Gardeners <br />new plants in. 2"d half of plants will be <br />summer gardening program <br />put in this fall. <br />■ Butterfly garden was weeded by various <br />board members and volunteers. <br />■ Planter boxes eventually installed on <br />northeast side of building facing lake. <br />Delayed in 2021 due to covid-19 <br />restrictions. Mr. Sevcik and Ms. Olson <br />are working on together. <br />Zone 2 <br />Front door, front garden, concrete pathways, patio, flag <br />■ Mr. Femrite working with Mr. Lore on <br />turnaround <br />bathroom door lock, entry way wall <br />Rain garden, book drop turnaround, employee parking lot; <br />piece that has fallen. <br />■ No issues <br />Zone 3 <br />being a good neighbor <br />■ Mr. Femrite working on capping brick <br />Zone 4 <br />Being a good neighbor, grass & rock areas <br />wall by garbage's. No drainage issues <br />anymore on back side of building and <br />through door. <br />Zone 5 <br />Rain garden, interior and exterior building maintenance, <br />All lights were updated with LED lighting <br />interior furniture, and shelving <br />per Mr. Femrite. Ms. Schake will put in <br />maintenance request on bug light that is <br />out, upholstery cleaning of bench in teen <br />area <br />CIP ITEMS IN PROCESS <br />PRIORITY CIP ITEMS <br />1. Ten mesh back computer chairs. Five for the public and five for staff area. <br />2. Replace or re -upholster the chairs by the fireplace. <br />3. Replace the rug in the fiction area. <br />4. Move one of the upholstered chairs in the children's area into the board book area and consider purchasing <br />another or reupholstering. <br />5. Cork floor in teen area may eventually need to be replaced but not a hazard now. Will be a building <br />maintenance issue for the Public Work s Director in the future. <br />6. Shelving to be replaced if needed if it can't be braced <br />CIP ITEMS IDENTIFIED BUT NOT RANKED FOR PRIORITY <br />
