SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION HELD AT THE ELK <br /> RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES OFFICE <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 26, 1996 <br /> Members Present : James A Tralle, President <br /> John Dietz, Vice Chairman <br /> George Zabee, Trustee <br /> Others Present : Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Glenn Sundeen, <br /> Line Superintendent; Robert McCartney, Water Superintendent; <br /> Patricia Hemza, Office Manager <br /> 1 . Call Meeting to Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting <br /> of the Elk River Utilities Commission was called to order at <br /> 4 : 00 P.M. by President James Tralle . <br /> 2 . Discussion of executive search for General Manager <br /> Mr. Tralle outlined the proposals from Brimeyer and Mycoff <br /> and Associates and explained the list costs from both <br /> companies . Mr. Tralle advised that Brimeyer would help <br /> develop the job profile, interview employees, users, <br /> and developers . Mr. Zabee noted that Mycoff and Associates <br /> have more experience in the utility field, but that they <br /> are more expensive, as well as the draw-back of being <br /> out of the State. Mr. Klaers reported his experiences <br /> with Brimeyer as being very professional and positive. <br /> Decisions on the two companies will be reserved until <br /> the April 9, 1996 meeting, when AEC will present their <br /> proposal for management services . <br /> 3 . Mr. Tralle made note that Phill Martin' s assistant may <br /> be able to assist in assessing AEC' s proposal, and that <br /> Jack Kegel from MMUA will also be willing to help. Mr. <br /> Tralle will check with R.W. Beck for the same service . <br /> Mr. Zabee would like it noted that there are problem <br /> areas with job descriptions, comp worth, rates, general <br /> policies and accumulated vacation/sick leave. Mr. Zabee <br /> also stated that the Utilities has been operating <br /> efficiently and that the employees have been working <br /> hard to keep business running as usual . <br /> 4 . A special meeting date is set for 4-16-96 at 4 : 00 P.M. <br /> to meet with Jack Kegel from MMUA. <br /> 5 . Discussion was held by the Commissioners regarding their <br />
