<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />September 30, 1895 <br /> <br /> <br />The Board of Supervisors met at Town Clerk’s office at 8 o’clock A.M. pursuant to adjournment. <br />Full Board present, this being the time and place set for the hearing on the road petition signed by <br />J.L.A. Nickerson and others for a new road beginning at the southeast corner of the southwest <br />quarter of the southwest quarter of section 36, Township 33, Range 26 and running thence northerly <br />and northeasterly as described in said petition and if appearing to the Board by affidavit of W.L. <br />Babcock that he had served copies of the notice of hearing upon each of the occupants of the land <br />through which the road may pass at least ten days prior to this meeting, and it further appearing to <br />the Board by affidavit of Andrew Davis that he had posted copies of said notice in three public <br />places in said town at least ten days prior hereto. The Board proceeded to view the proposed route <br />for said road. No one appearing to offer objections to the laying out of said road and it appearing to <br />the Board to be necessary and proper that the same should be laid out, located and established on <br />motion it was voted that the prayer of the petitioners be granted at that a public road four rods in <br />width be laid out, located and established accordingly, a survey was ordered made by J.H.
