<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />September 17, 1895 <br /> <br /> <br />The Board of Supervisors met at Town Clerk’s office at 10 A.M. present <br />W.L. Babcock, chairman <br />B.F. Plummer and <br />John Blocher. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. <br />A.S. Merrifield Road Work 71.65 <br />Gust Anderson Road Work 1.00 <br />J.H. Williams Surveying Roads 8.00 <br />John Blocher Supervisors per diem 6.00 <br /> <br />The petition of J.L.A. Nickerson and others for a new road was presented. Said new road as <br />described in said petition runs as follows: Beginning at the south east corner of the south west <br />quarter of the south west quarter of section (36), Township 33, range 26 and running from thence <br />northerly and northeasterly on the most practicable route for a road to the north east corner of the <br />northwest quarter of section 36, Township 33, Range 26. The same being found in due form and <br />signed by the requisite number of freeholders as required by law and being satisfied by the oath of <br />the said W.G. Babcock that the same hand been posted in three public lace of said town as required <br />th <br />by law, the same was accepted and an order drawn designating Sept. 30 1895 at 8 o’clock A.M. at <br />the Town Clerk’s office as the time when and place where they would meet for the purpose of <br />hearing any reasons for or against the laying out of said road and for the purpose of personally <br />examining the same. <br /> <br />The petition of Fred A. Clark and others for a new road was presented. Said new road as described <br />in said petition runs as follows. Beginning at a point on the south line of section (12) Township (32) <br />Range (26) said point being two rods west from the south east corner of said section (12) and <br />running thence northerly and northwesterly on the most practicable route for a road through <br />sections (12) and (1) to the northeast corner of the northwest quarter of said section (1) Township <br />(32) Range (26). The same being found in due form and signed by the requisite number of <br />freeholders as required by law and being satisfied by the oath of the said J.H. Williams that the same <br />had been posted in three public places of said town as required by law, the same was accepted and <br />st <br />and order drawn designating Oct 1 1895 at 8 o’clock A.M. at the Town Clerk’s office as the time <br />when and the place where they would meet for the purpose of hearing and reasons for or against the <br />laying out of said road and for the purpose of personally examining the same. <br /> <br />The petition of Daniel Frye and others for a new road was presented. Said new road as described in <br />said petition runs as follows: Beginning on the Point Douglas and Fort Ripley Military Road, so <br />called, and at a point on said Road (2) rods north from the point where said road crosses the south <br />line of section (2), Township (32) Range (26) and running from that point easterly parallel to the <br />south line of said section (2) to a point (2) rods north from the southeast corner of the southwest <br />quarter of said section (2) thence northeasterly and easterly on the most practicable route for a road <br />to the northeast corner of the south half of the southwest quarter of section (1), Township (32), <br />Range (26). The same being found in due form and signed by the requisite number of freeholders as <br /> <br />
