<br /> <br />218.30 - Vacation Leave. <br /> <br />Orcl\\""\O..f\C.e.. ~ 3 - 9 <br /> <br /> <br />4. Terminal Leave. Any employee leaving municipal service in good <br />standing after giving proper notice of such termination of employment <br />shall be compensated for vacation leave accrued and unused to the date <br />of separation. Proper notice shall mean written notice at least ten <br />(10) working days prior to the date of termination for all personnel <br />except department heads, who must give thirty (30) calendar days' notice. <br /> <br />, 5. Waiving Vacation Prohibited. As vacation leave is granted to) <br />(employees for a period of recreation, no employee shall be permitted <br />to waive such leave for the purpose of receiving double pay. <br /> <br />1. Eligibility. Vacation leave with pay shall be granted to all <br />temporary employees applicable under Section 218.22(2), and to pro- <br />bationary and permanent employees at the rates established by the <br />appointing authority, except that vacation leave granted to probationary <br />employees shall not be available for use until satisfactory completion <br />of the initial, not promotional, probationary period. <br /> <br />2. When Taken. Vacation leave may be taken after approval by the <br />department head. No employee shall be allowed vacation leave until <br />after completion of the initial probationary period. <br /> <br />3. Accumulation. Employees may carryover from one year to the <br />next a maximum of five (5) days of accumulated vacation leave. An <br />employee may be permitted to carryover more than five (5) days of <br />accumulated vacation leave with specific permission of the City Admin- <br />istrator only when a specific and designated use of said time is shown. <br />Employees who are granted permission to carryover vacation leave in <br />excess of five (5) days and then are unable to use said vacation time <br />as indicated or specified shall have a period of three (3) months to <br />utilize the vacation leave carried over in excess of the five (5) days <br />or lose the right to maintain the excess vacation hours. <br /> <br />218.32 - Sick Leave. <br /> <br />1. Eligibility. Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all temporary <br />employees eligible under Section 218.22(2), and to probationary and per- <br />manent employees at the rate of one (1) working day for each calendar <br />month of full-time service and each major fraction thereof. <br /> <br />2. Accumulation. There shall be no maximum limit on the accum- <br />ulation of sick leave. However, sick leave shall not be considered a <br />privilege which may be used in a discretionary manner but shall be <br />granted only for absence from duty because of personal illness, a per- <br />sonal emergency medical or dental appointment, or legal quarantine. <br />Sick leave may also be granted for a maximum of three (3) days for <br />death in the immediate family of the employee. Immediate family shall <br />mean an employee's spouse, children, father, mother, brother, sister <br />or ward. <br /> <br />3. Injury on Duty. Employees rendered unable to work due to an <br />employment-connected injury shall be paid the difference between <br />the employee's regular rate of pay and the amount of workers' <br />compensation payments paid to the employee for a period not to <br />exceed forty-five (45) working days per injury after a three (3) <br />day initial waiting period.
