<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 88- 3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE ORGANIZATION <br />OF THE ELK RIVER VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />AND AMENDING SECTION 206 OF THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Elk River ordains as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1. Code of Ordinances, Section 206.00 shall be amended to <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />206.00 Volunteer Fire Department Continued. There is <br />hereby continued as heretofore established in the City of <br />Elk River a Volunteer Fire Department consisting of a chief, <br />three assistant chiefs, a secretary/treasurer, and so many <br />fire fighters as deemed appropriate by the fire chief and <br />the council, provided, however, that the total membership of <br />the department shall not exceed thirty five (35) persons. <br /> <br />2. Code of Ordinances, Section 206.02 shall be amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />206.02 Appointment or selection of members and officers. <br />The fire chief shall be appointed by the council taking into <br />consideration the recommendation of the members of the <br />department. All other officers shall be elected by the <br />department. Fire fighters shall be appointed by the members <br />of the Department in accordance with qualifications and <br />other requirements set forth in the Elk River Fire <br />Department Bylaws and this ordinance. <br /> <br />3. Code of Ordinances, Section 206.04 is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />4. Code of Ordinances, Section 206.10 shall be amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />206.10 - Meetinqs.
