Many staff and
Commission members helped make it possible, and the crowd seemed to enjoy the
mooing bucket truck and the cow riding the electric bike. This was a great event to get
out and promote environmental responsibility and efficiency programs for residential
and commercial customers, with an increased emphasis on electric transportation.

• Participated in the Night to Unite event in cooperation with the City of Elk River. ERMU
visited three parties where staff answered a few questions about the new field services
building, particularly regarding the amount of dirt being moved, and safety procedures.
There were also some discussions on the historical significance of the area.

• Presented to 85 attendees at the American Public Power Association’s Electric Vehicle
Interest Group (EVIG) virtual seminar on the commitment ERMU has made to electric
vehicles and charging opportunities. The
rulemaking process started in September 2019 and represents input from more than
10,000 Minnesotans. With transportation now being the leading cause of greenhouse
gas emissions in Minnesota, the clean car standards will reduce help reduce them by
increasing the choices Minnesotans have when purchasing electric vehicles.

93
