Request for Action <br />To <br />Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council <br />8.3 <br />Agenda Section <br />Meeting Date <br />Prepared by <br />General Business <br />July 19, 2021 <br />Justin Femrite, P.E., Public Works Director <br />Item Description <br />Reviewed by <br />County Road 13 Cost Share Agreement and Plan Approval <br />Calvin Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the cost share agreement, and final plans for the Sherburne County CSAH 13 Improvements <br />project. <br />Background/Discussion <br />Upon direction from the February 16, 2021, City Council meeting, final plans were prepared for the Sherburne <br />County CSAH 13 improvement project which includes installation of two roundabouts (at Line Avenue and Tyler <br />Street), full turn lane development at Trott Brook Parkway, reconstruction of travel lanes between the <br />roundabouts and the addition of a trail between Trott Brook Parkway and Tyler Street. <br />All proposed improvements are consistent with the recommendations of the CSAH 13/Twin Lakes Road <br />corridor study. <br />In accordance with the Sherburne County cost participation policy, a cost participation agreement has been <br />developed and reviewed by city staff and the city attorney. <br />Sherburne County is set to open bids for the project on July 21 with construction to commence in August 2021. <br />Financial Impact <br />The city cost estimate included in the agreement is $757,134.95, which is subject to change based on final <br />quantities and bid numbers. The CIP estimate, including approved scope increase of adding the second <br />roundabout at Tyler Street, totaled $800,000.
