The
City Council agreed and expressed a consensus for “Elk RiverFest” to be held the first Saturday in July.

Community feedback from the third event held Saturday, July 3 has been positive for nearly all activities including
food trucks, vendors, entertainment, and the shuttles. Attendance seemed to be down slightly from the previous
event in 2019. Staff continues to evaluate the event and plans to discuss this with City Council next month.

Staff would like to hear Commission feedback on the event.
- What have they heard from the community?
- Staffing is a challenge on the holiday weekend for the city and some downtown businesses. How does the
Commission feel about current date?
- Thoughts on including the Furniture and Things Community Event Center as part of the event?
- Fireworks, type (shell size), location, show length?

Financial Impact
N/A

Mission/Policy/Goal
Ethical, efficient, and responsible

Attachments
 N/A
