Standard #1, for insurance of a Conditional Use Permit, is not <br />met. <br />2. The proposed use could detrimentally affect the use and <br />enjoyment of other property in the immediate vicinity. <br />Should the City Council move to deny the application, Council must <br />note specific findings where the standards for approval are not met, <br />and direct staff to return with a finding of fact denying the applications <br />on July 19, 2021. <br />Alternatively, should the City Council move to approve the application, <br />staff recommends including the conditions noted in the Planning <br />Commission Memo dated May 25, 2021, along with any additional <br />conditions the Council deems appropriate. <br />Background/Discussion <br />Case Number CU 21-07 <br />The property is zoned R1-c (Single Family Residential) where Private <br />Figure <br />Kennels require a Conditional Use Permit (CUP). The applicant is <br />seeking a CUP to maintain a private kennel for five dogs over 20 pounds (10 animal units) at their property. The <br />property is 0.21 acres in size and is within an established neighborhood surrounded by single family homes. The <br />entire backyard of the subject parcel is fenced. <br />Private Kennel means any premise wben more than six (6) domestic animal units over the age of six months, are harbored or kept. <br />Domestic Animal Unit is a unit of measure for domestic animals.
