UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />June 8, 20216.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Delivered three new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter,and took curb stop <br />ties from three water services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for coliform bacteria <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Reportsubmitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 20 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />o Completed one MDH validation fluoride sample <br /> Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plant to the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br /> Hydrant flushing went well the week of May 10. With the help of technical servicesstaff, <br />it took five days to complete. <br />A job offer was made and accepted for thevacantWater Operatorposition, their start <br />date is scheduled for June 10. <br /> Verizon Wireless has completed installation of their equipment on Freeport Water <br />Tower. <br /> A public information meeting for our Well Head Protection Plan amendment was held <br />on May 26. No one expressed any concerns. <br />th <br />Two four-inchwatermain stubs along 5 Street and Highway 10 were discovered by <br />MNDOT’s contractor while installing storm sewer pipe along the highway. The stubs <br />were cut shorter and capped to make room for the storm sewer.
