<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 87- 50 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION RELATING TO TRAFFIC SAFETY ISSUES AT HIGHWAY l~ <br />AND SIMONET INTERSECTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has discussed the Simonet Drive and <br />Highway l~ safety issue at its 8/24/87 meeting and <br />reviewed letters from Simonet Drive residents, Mn/DOT <br />Officials and the City Engineer on this issue, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the determination of the City Council of the City <br />of Elk River that safety improvements are needed at <br />this intersection in the immediate future, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City concurs that the planned installation of signs <br />by Mn/DOT near this intersection will help the <br />situation but that the most needed safety addition in <br />this area is the installation of a street light. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Elk River that the City hereby requests the Elk River <br />Municipal Utility Department to finance and install <br />street lights at the Highway l~ and Simonet Drive <br />Intersection to help insure a safe traffic environment. <br /> <br />Adopted this 31st day of August, 1987. <br /> <br />Wdh c~ 4A~ <br /> <br />Estelle E.
