<br />RESOLUTION 87-41 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />ADOPTING A POLICY FOR CONTINUED COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE MINNESOTA OPEN MEETING LAW <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has conducted its business <br />in strict compliance with the Minnesota open meeting law; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Ci ty Council that its <br />procedures be stated in a formal policy; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council <br />of the City of Elk River that to maintain continued compliance <br />with the Minnesota Open Meeting Law by all parts of the City <br />government, the following procedures shall continue to be the <br />policy of the City of Elk River: <br /> <br />1.) As required by law, meetings of the City Council and <br />its committees, as well as any boards or commissions of the <br />City, shall be open to the public; <br /> <br />2.) The City Council, and all committees, boards, or <br />commissions of the City, shall schedule regular meetings and <br />keep a schedule thereof at the city administrative offices. <br /> <br />3.) Should special meetings be required, notice of <br />special meetings shall be given by notice of the date, time, <br />place and purpose of the meeting posted 3 days in advance of <br />the meeting or as far in advance as is practical under the <br />circumstances. Notice shall be posted at the public bulletin <br />board located in the entrance to the city administrative offices <br />at 720 Dodge Avenue Northwest, in the City of Elk River, and at <br />the Elk River Public Library located at 413 Proctor Avenue, in <br />the City of Elk River 0 <br /> <br />4.) The Elk River Star News and any other media, <br />organization, or individual which has requested notice of <br />public meetins shall be notified 3 days in advance of the time, <br />place and purpose of special meetings. <br /> <br />5.) At all meetings the clerk of the meeting shall be <br />responsible for making available for use by any members of the <br />public in attendance at least one copy of the agenda and any <br />written materials dealing with the subject matter of the <br />meeting. <br />
