<br />RESOLUTION 86-55 <br />CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING COUNTY ACTION FOR IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON <br />COUNTY ROAD 39 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />The Elk River <br />provide for the <br />citizens, and; <br /> <br />City Council has responsibility to <br />health, safety, and welfare of it's <br /> <br />WHEREAS, traffic control is a major safety concern within the <br />City of Elk River, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Chief of Police has recommended <br />to the Elk River City Council the placement of stop <br />signs on certain County roads and the reduction of the <br />speed limit on County Road 39. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Elk River, that a request be made to the Sherburne <br />County Board for: <br /> <br />1. The placement of stop signs at the following: <br /> <br />County Road 77 and 199th Street <br />County Road 33 and 295th Street <br />County Road 33 and Vance Street <br />County Road 30 and Joplin Street <br />County Road 39 and Macon Street <br />County Road 39 and Naples Street <br />County Road 39 and Rawlins Street <br />County Road 39 and Union Street <br /> <br />2. The reduction of the speed limit from 55mph to <br />49mph, from Denver Street to Waco Street on County <br />Road 39. <br /> <br />3. The placement of a yield sign at the intersection <br />of Upland Avenue on Meadowvale Road (County Road <br />44). The placement of this sign is requested to be <br />on Meadowvale Road, eastbound, approaching Upland <br />Avenue. <br />
