The Elk River Vision
A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional
service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity. Over the last four years, the HRA has acquired and demolished seven properties
with one additional property potentially available for acquisition. As the redevelopment has taken shape over the
last several months staff has received interest from a handful of developers.

Following the Feb. 22 Joint Special Meeting, staff is seeking direction for the vision for the Main and Gates
Redevelopment Corridor. Staff will be able to incorporate this feedback into future conversations with potential
developers, include it in the request for proposals, and in the promotion and marketing materials.

Some of the items to consider are:
1) Does the Authority desire this project to be a connection with downtown?
2) Is there a desire for pedestrian-friendly connections to other services/activities in the area?
3) How does this area benefit from TH169 improvements? (strengths/opportunities)
4) How do TH169 improvements challenge this area? (weaknesses/threats)
5) What uses would you like to see supplemented in this area?
6) Do you see this as a mixed-use project? If so, what uses?
7) Do you see this as a single-use project? If so, what use?
8) What are your thoughts on setbacks, parking, height?
Financial Impact
N/A

Mission/Policy/Goal
City Mission Statement

Attachments
• November 2, 2020 HRA Meeting Minutes
• Map of Project Area
• List of allowed uses
