<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and Council 4.8 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent February 1, 2021 Jason Cook, P.E., Consultant Project Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Bid Award: 2021 Street Improvements Justin Femrite, P.E., Public Works Director <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Adopt, by motion, a resolution accepting bid for the 2021 Street Improvements Project to low bidder North <br />Valley, Inc. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Per resolution 21-4, The 2021 Street Improvements Project was designed and plans and specifications were <br />publicly advertised for bid. <br /> <br />The improvements consist of the resurfacing of those roadways identified in the current 2021 Pavement <br />Management Plan and as modified by the public works director. The project includes rerouting a segment of <br />sanitary sewer along Main and Zane Streets to facilitate the 169 Redefine project. This work is included in this <br />contract as the pavement restoration was already in planning for this area. <br /> <br />Nine competitive bids were received on January 27, 2021. North Valley, Inc., was the low responsible bidder with <br />a total bid of $4,764,032.23. The bid tabulation of all bids received is included in the attached resolution. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />There are eight Minnesota State Aid routes within the project limits eligible for state aid funding with the <br />remainder of the project cost funded through the Pavement Management Fund in accordance with the details <br />included in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
