<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 3, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Coles at the Village Hall on October 3, 1966. All members were present. The minutes of the last <br />meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bartelt and seconded by Hudson to renew beer license of Sherman Sachs. <br />Motion carried. <br />Richard Halter, Otis Nickerson and William Patenaude, representing the Elk River Power and Light <br />Commission were present. The matter of paying for the street surfacing being done was discussed. <br />The commission will be willing to help finance the project. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Briggs to borrow the money from the Power and <br />Light commission to pay the Buffalo Bitunimous Company for the street surfacing, the money to be <br />paid back as the assessments come in, interest rate 6%. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Council was in favor of a seal coat on School Street, the cost to be about $200.00. <br /> <br />Earl Hohlen asked about moving a building into town to be placed on his property. He will make <br />out a regular building permit application. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed: <br />William J. Mills – Services $491.00 <br />William J.
