<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 18, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order on April 18 <br />by Mayor Coles. All members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Liquor Store Manager, Robert Reynolds was present. The matter of union wages at the Liquor Store <br />was brought up. It was decided to offer the Bar Tenders Union a raise in wages of 5 cents – 5 cents <br />and 5 cents per hour for the next three years for bar tenders and 4 cents – 3 cents and 3 cents for <br />waitresses. Also no more holidays, three weeks vacation after seven years. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Hudson to buy an automatic glass washer for the <br />Liquor Store. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Lester Derr was present. He will see Engineer Mills regarding an overall plan for drainage. <br /> <br />The following hours were set up for the Village dump: <br />thst <br />Starting April 25 and ending May 21 <br />Mondays 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. <br />Wednesdays 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. <br />Thursdays 1 P.M. to 8 P.M. <br />Saturdays 8 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. <br />st <br />After May 21 Summer Hours <br />Thursdays 1 P.M. to 8 P.M. <br />Saturdays 9 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bartelt and seconded by Syring to Authorize Husdon and Derr to look at a <br />used pickup and buy it if they think next. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to call Mr. Firehammer and ask Mr. Aud, Mrs. Firehammer to be at he next <br />regular meeting to discuss the assessor’s work. <br /> <br />The matter of hiring a police officer was brought up and discussed. A motion was made by Hudson <br />and seconded by Briggs to offer R.E. Sveska of Grand Meadow the position at a salary of $385.00 <br />per month for six month. <br /> <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />H.A.
