<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 7, 1966 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the village council was held at the Village hall on March 7, 1966. All <br />members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Coles. The minutes of the last <br />meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />There was some further discussion regarding a tank for the fire department. Fire Chief Harry <br />Dreissig will look around for a tank and pump. <br /> <br />WM Mills, engineer, Emil Hoffman were at the meeting. The discussion was in regard to the water <br />drainage problem east of Evans Ave. and across Main St. to Hoffman’s property. It will be necessary <br />for some engineering be done and possibly use the county ditch. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Briggs to close Loinell Ave. across the tracks. <br />Motion carried, all voting in favor. <br /> <br />Jack Bernard showed tentative plans for a car wash on his corner. He will bring in detailed plans and <br />find out what can be done with the wastewater. <br /> <br />Les Derr says his men, Art Barnier and LeRoy Pike would like their wages to set at $350.00 per <br />month each up to 80 hours per week and bank the rest. Nothing further was done at this meeting. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved: <br />N. Central Pub Service – fuel (?) - $87.91 <br />ER Utilities – L & P - $134.30 <br />American National Bank – escrow fee - $250.00 <br />Andy’s Electric – service - $6.26 <br />Davis Food – Lei? Groc - $50.00 <br />Art Barnier – labor - $240.98 <br />Ivin Hetrick –assessors’ bond - $10.00 <br />Webers Texaco – gas-oil - $148.18 <br />Doeblers P? Oil – gas-oil - $89.11 <br />Burgayne Truck Hauling - $137.00 <br />LeRoy Pike – labor - **no amount was listed <br />Violet Turner – cleaning $59.25 <br />First National Bank – stamp - $2.50 <br />E.R.
