<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 3, 1964 <br /> <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the village hall on Aug 3, <br />1964. All members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The minute of <br />the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />An on and off beer license was approved for Elroy Cornelius at the Crossroads Café. <br /> <br />Mag Johnson attended the meeting. He suggested that an overhead sign on Main and Jackson St <br />would be better than the stop sign there now. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Norris and second by Meyer to vacate that part of Norfolk Ave. lying south <br />of Manor Place. See petition of Ellen H. Bailey and Edith B. Wilson. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A petition was filed by Edwin Dreissig asking that Xenia Ave between Eighth St and Wand St be <br />paved. Petition on file. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Meyer and seconded by Bartelt to approve the petition provided it is legal <br />and approved by Engineer Mills. <br /> <br />An account of Labor Day, Sept 7, the council decided to hold the Sept meeting on Sept 1, Tuesday. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Wm T.
