<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 13, 1964 <br /> <br />A hearing was held on July 13, 1964 on project on street, storm sewer, curb and gutter, sanitary <br />sewer and water. Present Mayor Johnson, Meyer, Norris, Briggs, Richard Halter, Otis Nickerson, <br />Engineer Mills, Ed Dreissig. There was discussion but no one offered any serious objections. <br /> <br />Mrs. Mildred Christianson appeared. She is one of the heirs of the John Vaca estate. She agreed to <br />clear out corn crib, barn and silo so as to straighten School Street. Others present at the meeting <br />were Paul Carton and Albert Bailey. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Norris and seconded by Meyer to accept contract with A.N. Johnson Co. <br />and authorize clerk and mayor to sign contract for the village. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Meyer and second by Briggs to give notice of hearing on water line from Manor Place to <br />Angel Street if it becomes necessary. Carried. <br /> <br />Lester Derr plans to run for County Commissioner. A motion was made by Norris and seconded by <br />Briggs to give Derr permission to run for commissioner and if elected it shall not jeopardize his job <br />or salary with the village. Motion carried. <br /> <br />At this meeting the council approved a building permit for Joseph Gutzwiller to build a garage. <br /> <br />The council also agreed to have a sign posted at the village park on lake “no overnight parking”. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />H.A.
