UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />November 10, 2020 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Delivered 9 new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from 5 water services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 22 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards. <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> On October 19, we had an online meeting with MnDOT for the 169 Redefine project to <br />start planning for at least seven locations that were identified as needing the watermain <br />tobe lowered,relocated, or have its casing extended. The watermain work will be <br />performed by MnDOT’s contactor during construction of the freeway. <br />The water department completed the annual inspection ofthe LakeOrono Dam on <br />October 15. The dam seems to be in satisfactory condition. <br /> Auburn Street Water Tower has been taken out of service and drained for the winter. <br />We chose to take this tower out of service instead of Johnson Street Tower because the <br />drain valve has been slowly leaking water since the tower restoration project. Badger <br />State Inspection and Classic Protective Coatings have looked at the drain valve and <br />should resolvethe issue. <br /> Water department staff has been working with New Look Contracting on relocating fire <br />hydrants for the County State Aid Highway 12 road rehabilitation project. <br />Staff has also been working with Brenteson Companies, Inc.on the watermain <br />relocation for the Forterra pond construction. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />October2020Pumping by Well <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />100 <br />
