UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter – Conservation & Key Accounts Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />November 10, 2020 6.1e <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> In the last 30 days, the level two charger located downtown had 19 sessions and <br />provided customers with 384kWh of green energy. The DC fast charger at the Coborn’s <br />fuel station had 10sessions and provided126 kWh. The charger in the ERMU/City Hall <br />parking lot had 15 sessionsand provided customers with 110kWh. There was a totalof <br />44 charging sessions and 620 kWh of energy provided over the last 30 days. <br />TheHometown Wind Turbine is completewith the finalstep being the application of <br />MMPA and City of Elk River logos on November 5. <br /> The LED bulb and newsletter promotion is largely complete. There was a total of 592 <br />new subscribers, but staff will continue to enroll and deliver the LED bulbs as additional <br />customers come in over the coming months. <br /> Staff is currently working on four solar PV installations, there is one system in Otsego <br />and three in Elk River. There may be additional requests coming in over the next couple <br />weeks for customers trying to get them completed prior to December 31. There is <br />currently a 26% federal tax credit that is set to expire at the end of the year. <br /> Staff had the opportunity to speak at a Great Plains Institute event on EV rates for public <br />charging stations and time-of-use rates. The meeting was very well attended, and staff <br />was able to present with Plug-In-America, and Dakota Electric Association. <br /> Attended the Central Municipal Power Agency/Services (CMPAS) annual meeting in <br />Mankato. During this meeting there was detailed discussion about the benefits of <br />owning transmission to help offset the increasing transmission rates. ERMU participates <br />in the transmission market through the Midwest Municipal Transmission Group. <br /> During American Public Power Association’s Customer Connections Virtual Conference <br />staff attended two sessions, one on the need for communication networks to allow for <br />the interplay between customer behavior and satisfaction, and another on reliability, <br />rates, and the benefits to the environment from energy conservation. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />92 <br />
