<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 1, 1963 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Apr 1, 1963. All <br />members were present. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Complaints have come in regarding several places in the village which are considered health hazards. <br />The clerk was asked to write Dr. Sommer, Chairman of the village board of health asking him to <br />make inspection of the following: Spain house, Grover Malrupe, Otis Nickerson. <br /> <br />Paul Carton was present at the meeting. He asked about having water and sewer extensions on the <br />street south of the senior high school. This will be taken up later. <br /> <br />Ed Schwartz was present. He complains about a trailer house on the lot next to his property. The <br />trailer belongs to Wm. Lee. He quoted a state law regarding trailer homes. He says a prospective <br />buyer for his home cannot get a F.H.A. loan if the trailer house is there. The clerk was asked to write <br />Mr. Lee to have the trailer out of there not later than Apr. 13. <br /> <br />Pat Donahue attended the meeting. He would like to have the Village pay at least part of the <br />expense of a new sidewalk on his property on Third Street for the reason that it was not put in right <br />in the first place. Nothing was done about it at this meeting. <br /> <br />The R.C.P.A. wants to use the village dump and the council agreed to let them use it at the rate of <br />$25.00 a year. <br /> <br />Herb Greupner showed pictures and prices on mowers. A motion was made by Norris and <br />seconded by Larson to buy a power mower from Barkhardt Larson Co. for $1,023.00 less credit for <br />the used one $225.00 <br />Making the net price $798.00. Carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid: <br />Coast to Coast – paid $3.99 <br />Miller-Davis Co – mdse 10.16 <br />Fire Department – fires 36.00 <br />Robt. Milne – accountant 436.91 <br />Costello Mfg Co – supplies 33.80 <br />St. Cloud Reformatory – steps 16.00 <br />Kemper Drug – supplies .89 <br />Carlson Bros – batteries 5.00 <br />Ernest Nelson – police 22.50 <br />Elk River Hdwe – mdse 6.25 <br />Farm Bureau – gas, oil 43.10 <br />Clarence Kramer – janitor 7.50 <br />Library Agency – books 124.02 <br />Rosalie Kemp – petty cash 5.65 <br /> <br />
