<br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 4, 1946 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the municipal building on September 4, <br />1946 with all members present. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Ed Bryan met with the Council in regard transfer of certain land at the sight of the old depot. The <br />matter was turned over to the Village Attorney. <br /> <br />The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Ed Bryan, agent of Northern Pacific Railway Co. asking for <br />cross walks and curbs at the crossings at Princeton Street and also at Mill Street. <br /> <br />The Clerk was also instructed to write the State Highway Department asking for a pedestrian <br />crossing at Main Street and Highway No. 10 and a sidewalk to connect up with the railway crossing <br />at Mill Street. Also a letter in regard to damage done to sidewalk in front of Elk Café. <br /> <br />William Frantz reported on the progress of the sewer project. <br /> <br />The condition of Main Street has been very bad on account of holes and dust caused by heavy <br />traffic. Ward Halsbo was asked to have holed filled at once and something done about the dust. <br /> <br />The Council approved the following salaries for the employees of the Municipal Liquor Store: <br />Marley McPherson $195 per mo. <br />Jim Wingress $160 per mo. <br />Coleman Kish $160 per mo. <br />William Mansur Jr. $160 per mo. <br />With one week vacation <br /> <br />A Building Committee was appointed by May Davidson: <br /> <br />V.B Skellenger – Chairman <br />H.A. Briggs <br />Elmer Leger <br /> <br />The application for building permit of D. P Christian was up for approval. Mayor Davidson called <br />for a vote which was: Briggs yes; Kramer yes; Skellenger No. Leger not voting. Application was <br />approved with the understanding that remodeling be done not later than December 31, 1946 and <br />must conform to plan described in the application. <br /> <br />The following applications for building permits were unanimously approved: <br />Emil Hoffman, S.F. Brucks, Ben Roper, Emma Oscarson, Charles Johanning, Dreissig, William <br />Beudix. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br /> <br />
