<br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 3, 1946 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the municipal building on June 3, 1946 <br />with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br /> <br />Fire Chief William Roggatz said the Fire Department needed some addition hose. A motion was <br />made by Leger and seconded by Skellenger that the Fire Department be authorized to order 350 feet <br />of fire hose and 50 feet of boaster hose. The motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Skellenger and seconded by Brigg that the Council appropriate $200 for <br />expenses of delegates to the Firemen’s Convention at Breckenridge. The motion carried and the <br />Clerk was instructed to write a warrant for that amount. <br /> <br />The Clerk was instructed to see the Village Attorney in regard to taking legal action to get the John <br />Orton place cleaned up. <br /> <br />The matter of a burglar alarm for the Municipal Liquor store was referred to the Liquor Committee. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Kramer and seconded by Brigg that Joyce Wilson be hired as life guard at <br />the swimming beach at the same wages and hours as last year. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Charles M. Nelson – May Salary $122.50 <br />Charles M. Nelson – Car for May $25.00 <br />Harry Johnson – School Patrol May $15.00 <br />State of Minnesota Highway Dept. – Village share of paving $1,069.02 <br />H.A. Briff – May Salary $25.00 <br />J.H. Daly – May Salary $16.66 <br />Gust Johnson – Expenses of Delegates $200 <br />Fire Department – Services $143.25 <br />Zella M. Page – May Salary $35.00 <br />Zella M. Page – Library Books $43.72 <br />Zella M. Page - Janitor Service $7.50 <br />Nickerson Bros – Battery $11.75 <br />N.W. Bell Telephone Co. – May $12.05 <br />G.N. Ry Co. – Freight $0.55 <br />Star News – Advertising $5.10 <br />J.H. Daly – Insurance $42.00 <br />Art Leger – Freight $0.77 <br />Fire Department – Services $115.50 <br />Flaherty Bros. – Service and Mdse. $1.40 <br />William Roggatz – Service on truck $2.60 <br /> <br />
