REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING June 3, 1946 Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the municipal building on June 3, 1946 with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Fire Chief William Roggatz said the Fire Department needed some addition hose. A motion was made by Leger and seconded by Skellenger that the Fire Department be authorized to order 350 feet of fire hose and 50 feet of boaster hose. The motion carried. A motion was made by Skellenger and seconded by Brigg that the Council appropriate $200 for expenses of delegates to the Firemen’s Convention at Breckenridge. The motion carried and the Clerk was instructed to write a warrant for that amount. The Clerk was instructed to see the Village Attorney in regard to taking legal action to get the John Orton place cleaned up. The matter of a burglar alarm for the Municipal Liquor store was referred to the Liquor Committee. A motion was made by Kramer and seconded by Brigg that Joyce Wilson be hired as life guard at the swimming beach at the same wages and hours as last year. Motion carried.
