<br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 2, 1945 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the municipal building on July 2, 1945 <br />with all members present. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />The matter of the condition of the Village water tank was up for consideration and it was decided an <br />emergency existed. It was badly in need of sealing and painting. A motion was made be Leger and <br />seconded by Kramer to enter into a contract with Dixie Task and Bridge Co. of Memphis, Tenn. To <br />clean and scale the tank, paint the interior of the tank, and apply one spat coat and one coat of paint <br />to the exterior. <br /> <br />Copy of contract is on file. The motion carried. <br /> <br />The following resolution was proposed and adopted. <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Elk River, County of Sherburne and State of <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />That, whereas, said Village has entered into an agreement with the State of Minnesota relative to the <br />lighting of that portion of the Minnesota Truck Highway No. 10, which runs through said Village, <br />when constructed or re-constructed; <br /> <br />Now therefore, be it resolved that the Mayor or president of the Council of said Village be <br />authorized and empowered to execute said contract for and on behalf of said Village to be attested <br />by the Clerk thereof. <br /> <br />Dated Signed <br />July 9, 1945 Glenn B. Brigg – Village Clerk <br /> <br />The Clerk was instructed to insert a notice in the Star News in the next issue asking the Co- <br />operation of dog owners to keep dogs shut up during the month of July on account of complaints of <br />damage to Victory Gardens. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Leger and seconded by Skelly that Marley McPherson be appointed assistant <br />Manager of the Municipal Liquor Store. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />An application for a building permit was made by August Leider. Motion by Leger and seconded by <br />Kramer that permit be granted. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />The following Resolution was proposed by Kramer and seconded by Briggs: <br /> <br />
