<br />REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 8, 1945 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the municipal building on January 8, <br />1945 with all members present. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />The newly elected trustee, V.B. Skellenger was sworn in. <br /> <br />Roland Wilson and Donald Dare met with the council in regard to a new siren for the fire <br />department. It was decided to investigate the matter. <br /> <br />R.W. Havoke and E.R. VaudenBerge met with the council regarding the curfew. Skellenger agreed <br />to draw up an ordinance for approval of the council. <br /> <br />Motion was made by leger and seconded by Kramer that Charles M. Nelson be rehired as Marshall <br />and pumper for year 1945. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following committees were appointed by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br /> Road Committee: <br /> Elmer Leger <br /> John Kramer <br /> V.B. Skellenger <br /> Park and Playground Committee <br /> Elmer Leger <br /> H.A. Briggs <br /> John Kramer <br /> Relief Committee <br /> H.A. Briggs <br /> V.A. Skellenger <br /> Sewer and Water Committee <br /> John Kramer <br /> Elmer Leger <br /> V.B. Skellenger <br /> Liquor Committee <br /> Elmer Leger <br /> John Kramer <br /> H.A. Briggs <br /> Power and Light Committee <br /> V.B. Skellenger <br /> Elmer Leger <br /> John Kramer <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid. <br />Ed Phillips & Sons – liquor - $349.26 <br /> <br />
