<br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 5, 1944 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on June 5, <br />1944. <br /> <br />All members were present. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />R.W. Hauske met with Council in regard to a playground program for the summer and life saver for <br />the swimming beach. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Kramer that $250.00 be appropriated for playground <br />for the summer. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Leger for an alternate proposition to appropriate the <br />sum of $400.00 for recreation program and life guard combined. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Mr. S. F. Brucles of Minneapolis met with Council in regard to obtaining beer license in case he <br />takes over the recreation. No action was taken at this meeting. <br /> <br />Clerk was instructed to mail warrant of $30.00 to E.J.
