<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 16, 1942 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on February 16, 1942 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Mayor; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor Tesch stated that John Bither had been taking care of the flag in the Village park since Dec. <br />th <br />7 1941. Mr. Tesch suggested that John Bither be appointed to take care of the flag for the duration <br />of the war and that he be paid $2.00 per month for this service. A motion to this effect was made by <br />Clinton Walker and seconded by G.A. Bailey. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Harry Anderson presented a letter from Dr. Gordon Tesch stating that Mr. Anderson needed <br />his glasses changed. Mr. Anderson said he could not pay for the glasses and asked that the Village <br />get them for him. He was allowed the glasses. <br /> <br />Mr. August Leider said he had been paid off of W.P.A. for a few days and that he was in need of <br />groceries. He was allowed a $10.00 food stamp book. <br /> <br />Mr. Harley a federal government man, was present at the meeting and stated that the federal <br />government was desirous of obtaining from the Village a list of the projects that the Village is <br />contemplating sponsoring in the next ten or fifteen years. The idea being to have a list of projects <br />ready to start on as soon as the war is over to relieve the unemployment situation which will come at <br />that time. He was given the estimates on the sewer disposal plant. <br /> <br />No further business. Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />J.C. Walker M.C. Tesch <br />Clerk Mayor <br /> <br />
