<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 10, 1958 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Upon call of the Mayor a special meeting was held at the Municipal Building on April 30, 1958. <br /> <br />Mr. Lindsay and Mr. Milla met with the Council and made a preliminary report of survey for a sewer <br />disposal plant. They gave information regarding a lagoon type system and also regarding the regular <br />type disposal plant. More detailed report will be filed later. <br /> <br />George Dietz and Ben Roper were present regarding raising the level of the street past Mr. Dietz’s <br />store. A motion was made by Sandberg and seconded by Meyer to re-route drainage tile to go down <br />Lincoln Street and then into railroad ditch. Also to raise grade of street along railroad three and one <br />half feet. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Liquor Store Manager Al Balow was present and discussed with the Council the matter of salaries at <br />the store. A motion was made by Bergerson and seconded by Briggs to allow a twenty-five dollar a <br />month raise for all bar tenders beginning May 1, 1958. Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Sandberg and seconded by Bergerson to reconsider motion of April 7 <br />meeting regarding amendment of ordinances 39 and 39a and take the matter up again at the next <br />meeting.
