<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 2, 1957 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Municipal Building December <br />2, 1957 with all members present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />The Council appointed the following on the Library Board: Robert Kemper, Paul Siegler, Mrs. Roy <br />Ryding. <br /> <br />A motion by Meyer and seconded by Dow to transfer $6,000.00 from the Liquor Fund to the <br />General Fund. Carried. <br /> <br />A motion by Dow was made to transfer $3,500.00 from the General Fund to the Road and Bridge <br />Fund and $300.00 from the Sewer Rental Fund to the General Fund. Motion carried. This transfer <br />from the Sewer Rental Fund was to pay part of maintenance of the sewer. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Sandberg and seconded by Dow to repay money borrowed from the Sewer <br />Rental Fund for the purpose of paying off registered warrants, the balance being $4,774.57. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />The Council requested the Clerk to invest $6,000.00 of the Sewer Rental Fund in a Certificate of <br />Deposit. <br /> <br />There was a discussion regarding sewer and electrical installations. It was the opinion of the Council <br />that there should be a fee for these installations and that they should be inspected. The matter will <br />be taken up at a later meeting. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Dow and seconded by Briggs to authorize the Village Marshall to appoint <br />necessary deputies to assist him in control of traffic at high school football and basketball games. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />The matter of Village zoning and street numbering was discussed. It was tabled until the January <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Building permit was issued to Merrit Brown. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid: <br />Flaherty Bros – Towing $2.00 <br />J.S. Shattuck – Village Maps $20.40 <br />Dan Bailey – Delinquent List $12.50 <br />Jens Schallberg – Fence Posts $118.80 <br />Hyd. Jack Co. – Truck Jack $45.92 <br />E.R. Mch. Shop – Repairs $3.35 <br />Marshall Wells – Mdse $10.50 <br />Caley Hdw. – Mdse. $2.50 <br />Miller Davis Co. – Check Blanks $11.70 <br />Miller Davis Co. – Justice Blanks $16.94 <br />Sheriffs Office – Lodging $7.50 <br /> <br />
